flashforward.

December 21, 2012

the mere thought of thinking about next fall makes my hair hurt.

and i know perfectly well that, “life moves pretty fast. if you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.” but, forgive me for not jumping over yet another birthday willingly, (i like presents! i’m getting old-ish!) but since fashion seasons make absolute no sense, and we’re already approaching fall/winter 2014 runways, let’s just play it twelve months forward for a moment and press pause. a brief flash-forward to pre-fall 2013:

if i hadn’t made it perfectly clear before now, let me aver that i’m pretty much non-crafty. i’m the very opposite of every beastie boys lyric you could think of. i am quite deft at wrapping a gift in all sorts of paper and colourful washi tape, but my DIY-side ends rather abruptly right about there. i’d love to see a pine cone and make it a mobile, or a piece of cardboard end up as my next made-it-myself vase, but, i don’t see it happening. my head just can’t make my hands work that way. that’s why i’m rather reliant on etsy.

sure, you’ll find loads of macramé underpants and clay cubist busts of elvis, but there is a glut of gorgeous to be found as well. i should know, i own a lot of it. but how could you possibly fault me for it, when it all looks as good as this:

and a cube makes a necklace - not tuesday

decorative sticky tape - seventytree

the brass age - maslo jewelry

tags - knot & bow

geo earrings - amerrymishap

triptych ring - tiny armour
