“i have reached an age when, if someone tells me to wear socks, i don’t have to.” // a. einstein

i’ve definitely reached the age where socks are no longer an issue, but i’ve not yet reached the point where i’d prefer it if my birthdays were put on mute. i’ll admit, i still get a small, (but very careful, and gentle) kick out of my birthdays – we have to be careful now, i am getting on in years.

and though i never expect gifts, (move along, @jaygoldman) – i won’t deny that every year i pick up a little something for myself – no reason as to why, just because it’s my birthday, (and i deserve it.)

i’ll just take the day to decide – it won’t be my birthday tomorrow.
