“when i arrived in america, i had these very dark red nails which some people objected to, but then some people object to absolutely everything.”

// diana vreeland

i don’t object to dark red nails, ever. i rarely paint them that colour myself, yet i do believe it’s the most classic and slightly subversive colour a woman, (or man, who’s to say we should be so exclusive), could choose. it’s both respectable and just brazen enough to make you notice beyond someone’s hands.

i, on the other hand, seem to gravitate to a subtler palette – and i’m not sure what that says about me, (if anything at all), as i’m still hoping people will notice me – perhaps i’m just not that respectable or brazen. as the case may be, perhaps i’m just a little harder to figure out or, i just truly enjoy a duller colour on my digits. who’s to say?
