“art can never exist without naked beauty displayed.” // william blake

your face is most certainly a canvas.

i know that every morning i attempt to make mine as lovely as a monet, but invariably it ends up something akin to a rothko. catch me later, on a warm day, and i’ll resemble something like a basquiat –  all smudged lines and dirtied graffiti.

and it’s all good, as it’s a face that laughs, and cries and works to its very fullest. yet, the one spot i’ll keep almost bare is the lip.

let my eyes be raccooned and my lashes be blackened, but i’ll forever be in search of the perfect nude lip. ask to see my collection of glosses and stains, and you’ll realize that my need for nudity verges on the obsessive – and one shouldn’t persuade me to stop.
