“i love white shirts because they feel like a security blanket. you can wear them with anything. it’s the person and the way that they wear it that makes it different.” // c. herrera

as close to perfection as a plain white tee and jeans has become, a white button down doesn’t lag too far behind.

classic, if you’re looking for the very definition of it, would probably be best captured by a photo of la goop, gwyneth paltrow, in a crisp white shirt and faded blue jeans, and a pair of tod’s suede loafers. (granted, my original thought lead me to carolyn bessette-kennedy, but that leads me down a path to john-john, and some twisted fairy tale and well, it’s too early on a monday morning for that.)

however, as i’ve made it painfully clear that classic is most certainly not what i’m after, a button-down can be flipped on its side, and the textbook case becomes a slightly-perverted, (but, in a totally platonic way) version of itself. the alternative, to an otherwise pretty predictable end.
