“denmark is like a secret little place with its own special language.” // h. christensen

though having a special language isn’t a major revelation for a northern european country – i think i understand what this scandi-beauty is getting at. with jelling stones, runes, and tales of vikings – the danes can seem rather mythical.

take a leap into present-day denmark, and you’ll find, that at least in design, the country’s aesthetic has always seemed to lean toward the modern. (take into consideration: arne jacobsen, georg jensen and hans wegner.) if dressing yourself instead of your home is a more pressing issue, you’ll find there’s no shortage of danish talent. malene birger, ganni, a relatively unknown brand named marimekko – and a current favourite, henrik vibskov.

current, and totally wearable – i’m all over these pieces from this forever-green country to the north…
