“the snow doesn’t give a soft white damn whom it touches.” // e.e. cummings

we spent the last ten days staring at blue.*

the bluest sky, the most azure pacific, cold as it was – we still had the water greet our toes, and by the time we got back to where we left our shoes, the sand and sun had warmed our soles. and then, as quick as a blink, (or cramped for five hours stowed in row 24), the beryl turned to a blank sheet of white.

it’s everywhere i look – and what’s more, when i look up it’s no longer any shade close to blue, but white upon white. it’s on a such a constant loop, that i’ve gone winter-blind and white’s all right – even though the weather makes it clear that it’s way after labour day.
