“nobody’s interested in sweetness and light.” // h. hopper
though usual tendencies lead my wardrobe down the dark corridor of limited hues and simple shapes – there resides somewhere in my squishy middle an inch or two of sartorial sweetness.
how it usually manifests itself is that you’ll find my daughter, forever candy-like in her character, (oh hi, parental hyperbole!), in occasional shimmery metallics, bows tied at the nape of her kiss-curled neck, and glittery sequins festooned in some quirky manner. it’s not that i live vicariously through her closet – but, it must be so liberating and joyful to not give a lick about whether something matches, whether your socks/top/dress/hair-tie go with your pants, or, more often than not, if those tights are on backwards.
there are moments though, when i can access that soft, chewy centre – and crave something syrupy, no hard-candy shell necessary.
