it’s a fine dichotomy, that’s found between the lines of a curve and a severe, straight angle.

but it’s there, in the middle of that venn diagram, in the middle of that polarity – where beauty resides. it’s the reason that architecture can be found to be beautiful, that a building; brick, mortar, steel beams – can elicit a sigh of relish.

it’s the same with a piece of jewelry – it must curve around a finger, a wrist, a neck – but it can carry with it hard right angles, obtuse lines and straight arrows –  and it’s there, in that middle space where hard and soft collide, and out of that, comes some kind of wonderful.
