“who ever said that pleasure wasn’t functional?” // c. eames
there’s not much more rewarding than having something that’ll kill two birds with one stone.
speaking metaphorically only, as i do like a bird or two; there’s a lot to be said about one item that can serve more than one use, and no – i’m not referring to anything as naff as the infinity dress.
those items that are fashion-forward, but undeniably functional.
the jumpsuit that dresses up, that is also able to get down on the ground to see what’s making that noise in your car – that’ll do you right. that utilitarian, yet billowy skirt that is both stylish and wildly comfortable, but somehow offers to keep your hands free; or that dress that veers body-con, but negates the need for a handbag. a metallic boot, that looks fantastic – but doesn’t sacrifice a sturdy sole to keep you upright when things get dicey and icy.
i like anything that looks good, but does a job more suited for two. it gets you quicker to the centre of looking fab and feeling terribly productive.
