there’s not much that’s as quick a fix at bringing some colour into the house as a dozen or so beautiful buds.
my taste in those too, as you can imagine, are rather blunt and to the point – not a lot of green flourish, a clean stem that leads to a burst of bloom – in vreeland pink, tangerine and a serious blue-violet. i’m not one for whites, yellows and baby pinks – i’m not into the shrinking violets of the flora genus.
much the same can be said of any floret i might wear. i’m not about to don a little lily-of-the-valley, wallflowers need not apply – much like the bouquets i prefer, i need something that can stand up on its own, that won’t need a dozen to make an impact – and will be seen without any need for added flourish.
