“i wish we could see perfumes as well as smell them. i’m sure they would be very beautiful.” // l.m. montgomery
and sometimes you get lucky, and you’re able to do both.
scent, and i’m sure i don’t need to tell you, is one of those nebulous, mysterious things in life that can take you almost anywhere you’d like to go.
your childhood bedroom, a late night drive in high-august, cigarettes, (that you don’t smoke anymore!) and songs that you made you cry; a dinner with friends that made your sides hurt from laughter; one rainy day in early april when you could finally smell the spring rise from the sidewalks.
scent is so wonderfully evocative, so blissfully nostalgic, that out of all the senses, it’s the one most powerfully tied to emotion and memory. it’s like a rubber-band, snapping you back in time and place, then there you are, snapped back to where you started.
scent isn’t just about what you smell, it’s about what you feel when you do – and that’s why reassembly, fragrance oils by josée gordon, (hi, josée!), have become a go-to for pulse points and moments of still, to being the only scent i carry in the shop. these little bottles of botanical fragrances carry more than their weight – hand-made with scents ranging from the woodsy to the city, to the sensual – these gorgeous fragrances will become a must-have; and i’m absolutely thrilled to introduce them to you and have them in the shop. find out more & find your perfect reassembly scent, here*.
