“if this is coffee, please bring me some tea; but if this is tea, please bring me some coffee.” // a. lincoln

i used to dream of tea – but really.

i’d fallen in some sort of strange stupor with the idea of steeping, infusing and sipping. and no, i’m not currently wrapped up in an afghan working on my cross-stitch – this was a dream i had when i was still in my teens. a teen that routinely drew siouxsie sioux eyes in the blackest of kohl and wore doc martens with the laces lined up to perfection. rude girls needed tea too.

now, when i should be entering my herbal-tea years, i’ve never been more chamomile-conflicted in my life. in fact, the tea dream is gone, and i’ve been keeping it completely coffee-centric. so far gone am i, that i brew my own for the most perfect cup of iced coffee, (15+ hours), and have started using an eye cream infused with coffee to perk up any shadows around my eyes. i’m tempted by the coffee-ground scrubs, the muddy body washes, the aroma of which make me feel as if sleep is not a necessity and that i have energy to spare. how clever was that juan valdez? he was really on to something.
